SENESCENCE SLOWDOWN COULD BENEFIT FROM EXOSOMES’ THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
In our pursuit, we’ve chosen to harness the therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles (EVs), with a specific focus on exosomes. These EVs, including exosomes, are key components of the mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) secretome—the complex milieu of bioactive molecules secreted by MSCs.
What makes EVs, particularly exosomes, standout is their ability to encapsulate and deliver a diverse array of therapeutic cargo, including miRNA, siRNA, mRNA, DNA and proteins due to their cell-cell communication role, indicating a suitable drug delivery system. Another benefit is the therapeutic effects inherent in EVs. These tiny vesicles carry with them similar intrinsic therapeutic properties attributed to MSCs, including potent anti-inflammatory and regenerative capabilities.
RNA AS ANTI INFLAMM-AGING MEDIATOR
By loading EVs with RNA payloads, we can ENHANCE their intrinsic therapeutic effects. RNAs play an important role in normal development, regulating gene expression patterns and allowing cells to react quickly to disorders. Aberrant expression of RNAs is associated with many human diseases, making them valuable targets for therapeutic intervention based on organism lifespan, tissue ageing and cellular senescence. RNAs can regulate aging on the level of organism lifespan, tissue aging and cellular senescence.
